Ping Rapture V2 Driver Is Comfortable

While the Ping Rapture V2 Driver is comfortable with the ability to help most players keep the ball in the fairway, it has the tendency of producing high, lofty shots, resulting in loss of distance. While the 9.5-degree club with minimal torque does produce lower shots, the ball gets up a bit quicker than desired. An 8.5-degree offering would serve this line better.
The Rapture V2 Driver was introduced in 2006. The Rapture's head was constructed from titanium and carbon composite. Lightweight carbon composite internal weight pads were positioned in the crown, allowing Ping to relocate 20 g of weight and move the center of gravity lower and farther back in the head. This enabled Ping to create a high launch with low spin rates. The large 460cc head was designed using a Cray supercomputer to ensure structural consistency, while the variable face thickness technology increased ball speed across the face, resulting in power and forgiveness.
The first noticeable difference from the original Ping Rapture V2 Driver is the racy lime green color on the shaft and the soleplate. But the changes arent merely cosmetic. In what Hollywood might call a plot twist, Ping has equipped the V2 with a super lightweight stock 939 shaft in L through X flexes. With a shaft weight of 47 grams and a 45.75-inch finished length, this makes the V2 one of the lightest and longest drivers on the market.
The Ping G15 Driver is engineered for golfers seeking a maximum forgiveness driver that delivers distance and accuracy. Its 460cc titanium head is longer front to back and features Ping's patented ultra thin crown technology. The G15 has numerous technological improvements over the G10. The G15 attains a higher MOI by lengthening the head from front to back. Additionally, a 7% larger face increases ball speed and provides consistency across the entire hitting surface. Lastly, weight savings from the ultra thin crown are positioned as an external sole weight to optimize the center of gravity for higher trajectories and reduced spin.
All-around strong performer, near the top of its class in all categories; a fine blend of distance and accuracy; low, boring trajectory; stable head through the impact zone leads to powerful, lively impact feelthe ball jumps off the face; responsive feedback regardless of impact location; Ping G15 Driver maintains distance despite your swing flaws; lots of directional help; low-spin club; many find it among the longest tested.
